The
Truth About Building Muscle
It's
the hottest bodybuilding program
on the Internet
... but is it
any good?
A professional weight training
coach gives his opinion
You've probably heard of Sean Nalewanyj and his program, The Truth About Building Muscle.
Lots of people are talking about it. (Click here
if you're curious to see what all the buzz is about.)
I started getting so many inquiries from people asking me for my
professional opinion of the program, that I decided to take a look ...
a long, hard look.
Now
I can say it: I hate Sean Nalewanyj (that's him on the right).
OK, not really. But I should
hate him.
With The Truth About
Building Muscle, Sean has produced the top-selling
bodybuilding system on the Internet. Having examined it for
myself, I can see why copies of it are flying out Sean's
door.
If
everyone bought this program--and followed Sean's advice to the
letter--you would certainly be seeing a lot more great physiques
everywhere you looked.
And people wouldn't need to pay me
to
tell them how to get that ripped, muscular look that everyone seems to
want. (Not to mention that
Sean's program costs less than just one of my coaching
sessions.)
Sean's program is available as a downloadable
e-book
containing 250 info-packed pages explaining the entire muscle-building
process, step-by-step. Every word is spot-on, too. There's no
hype, false claims or questionable advice.
Sean shows,
in easy-to-follow words, how anyone can get exactly the body
he (or she) wants in the fastest amount of time.
Sean
himself started out as a frustrated, skinny kid who tried everything to
build up his body, without success--until he was able to cut through
the lies and BS that surround the subject of bodybuilding and discover
the basic truths on the subject. Did he succeed?
Well,
that's him in the picture. (There are more pictures of him
at his Web
site.)
One of the best things Sean has
going for him, in my opinion, is an astonishing ability to deliver his
bodybuilding
truths in the most straightforward way I have ever seen them
communicated. (Yeah, I'm envious.)
The program is laid out differently than any other book on bodybuilding
I have seen.
First
of all, it's truly a good-looking product, chock full of diagrams and
pictures that clearly illustrate principles explained in the
text. It's also easy to navigate through it using interactive
text links and buttons. (But I recommend printing out a text version
and putting it in a binder so you can read it away from the computer --
like at the gym, for instance.)
Then there's the program itself.
So
what is
Sean's program? It's many things, covering workout
structure, proper nutrition, the best methods for losing fat, and
more.
The core of his approach, though, is the use of high
intensity but infrequent workouts ato build maximum muscle strength and
size in less than 3 hours per week.
I
consider this approach to be far superior to the many other systems
that would have you spending almost all your non-sleeping hours in the
gym!
As he puts it: "Everyone
in the gym is concerned
with the wrong idea. Everyone is so hell-bent on 'feeling the
burn' and getting a huge 'muscle pump' that they fail to see the big
picture."
Sean's approach goes against this "gym herd"
nonsense. His focus--and the focus you should have--is to
progressively move more weight for more reps. You literally
force
your muscles to adapt to greater and greater amounts of stress, leaving
them no option but to grow.
From my own experience, I agree with
Sean that there's absolutely no need for you to spend more than a
couple or three hours per week working out in order to achieve amazing
muscle gains.
In fact, Sean puts a precise time commitment on his method: 2 hours and
45 minutes a week. (He states this on his Web site.)
By investing "just 2 hours and 45 minutes" of your time each week, he
promises that you can
- Build impressive
muscle mass
-
Dramatically increase your strength
-
Burn excess body fat
But
what if you're the kind of person who finds it hard to stick with even
a low-volume exercise program for any length of time? Then
chapter 5 is written for you. Called "Harnessing Your Inner Power,"
it sets out some motivational methods and goal-setting techniques that
blew me away. I'm thinking of "stealing" some of them to give
to
my own clients to try.
Criticisms? Just one, and it's mild.
... Sean comes off as a bit cocky in some places. But then,
he's
earned the right to brag and strut a little. Again ... just
check
out his photos.
Bottom
line:
If you're at all serious about
building a magnificent looking body, The Truth About Building Muscle
is
worth far more than what Sean is charging for it.
In
fact, it's a downright steal when you add in the fact that he throws in
9 extra bonuses, including 3 months of free support by email and a
printable, 26-week workout log.
Whether you're a complete beginner, a "middle student" of bodybuilding,
or an advanced trainer, this program is for you.
There you have it. My honest opinion.
